Timing and starting  your Zenoah engine

4. Hook up: The sensor cable (RBW) male deans to the Ignition module female deans.
                   The red wire with bullet to the spark coil(s), the black wire to ground (this can be the grounded lug of the spark coil).
                   The red and black wires to the ignition switch and battery.

To adjust the timing, move the bracket.
To set the air gap (.010 - .020) move the sensor.
Start with the timing bracket in the center of the slots.
Set the timing using the instructions for the Synchro Spark.
Use the degree wheel and set timing at 30 degrees before top dead center.
After your engine breaks in you might gain power by resetting to 32 degrees BTDC.

Use a heavy glove or chicken stick, crank the engine normally. You do not need to slap the prop.
Keep in mind that any large engine with the right conditions can hurt you if you are careless!
Before your first flight you must follow our instructions to range check you radio system, engine running and not running.
We recommend using the Bosch resistor spark plug cover for added R.F.I. protection on all ignition engines.

This is how we start our Zenoah engines with the Quick Mount System;
A. Choke on, Ignition on, throttle cracked, aiplane restrained
B. Crank until the engine gets fuel and pops then choke off and crank. Usually the engine will start within three or four flips.
C. Bring engine to idle, check throttle response then go fly.
